Hāna Kū: the ʻAha Āina is a culinary fundraising experience with a pupu style dinner featuring chef's and Hāna's ʻOhana Park, complimentary beer and wine, and musical entertainment.

This culminating event is built on 2 prior weekends of chefs and hunters/fishermen getting to know each other through holoholo, cooking and some intense games of Portuguese horseshoe.

This yearʻs practitioner family is the ʻOhana Park, steeped in knowledge of hunting and ranching and also avid fishermen, our chefs had an amazing experience of killing and processing a whole pipi (cow), to learning the technique of ʻupena kiloi (throw net) and then putting those skills to the test to catch fish for dinner that night.

The ʻAha ʻAina helps support these collaborative weekends between chefs and Hānaʻs hunter/fishermen and aims to educate community about the importance of subsistence life-styles, transmission of generational knowledge and the responsibility we carry to protect our environmental resources.
